This is a day trip to Ngosi crater lake. Tour starts at 09:00 on that Thursday morning and ends by 14:00.

Overview
Mbeya is a region of many attractions but our unsurpassed treasure in the crown is Lake Ngosi, which is one of the most intriguing tourism hotspot in the southern Highland of Tanzania. Less than 30 minutes by car from Mbeya Town, tourists will find themselves in the virgin paradise surrounded by the natural forest and beautiful views of the Poroto Forests.

Lake Ngosi is among the lakes formed by volcanic activities many years ago and it is the second largest Crater Lake in Africa after lake Wench in Ethiopia. It’s found 38 kilometers from Mbeya town on the Tanzania –Malawi Highway district of Rungwe and Mbeya Rural.

It has an African map shape which makes it very special and interesting to visitors.

– Depth of 70m
-1.6 km wide and a length of 2.5 km.

The lake is surrounded by the natural forest with 9332 acres with massive ecosystem, it’s a suitable home for many species including Three horned chameleons, black and white Colobus monkeys, bamboo trees, natural banana plantations and several birds species.

Food: Selection of food is based on popular dish, available to choose below. Alcohol may not be available, if you want special selection please carry them with you from Mbeya Town. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know first.
